Master's Message

Brethren,

One of the most important facets of our fraternity is the spirit of brotherhood. It is
certainly not unique to Freemasonry, but, it certainly is an integral part of it.

Recently, a brother Mason and labor union brother of mine had a serious
illness in his family.  His four year old son was diagnosed with a life threatening
disease.  He missed many days of work and was no longer being paid by the
company. My union brothers and sisters contributed money to help him with his
expenses.  Unfortunately, the money could not stretch far enough.

The union leadership came up with an idea.  They asked if the members would
give up their spare vacation days and contribute them to their brother in need.
The company agreed to this act of generosity.  The donated days helped to carry
our brother long enough to care for his son, (who is now cancer free).

The timely action and non-linear thinking of a few good people, along with the
generosity of many are direct factors in saving a young life and keeping a good
family together.

Brethren, look beyond the conventional solutions to problems. Be generous
with your talents, and do good unto all men.

Fraternally,                                  Attest

Master's Notes
It is our turn again to escort our veterans to chapel at the Menlo Park Veterans
home on Sunday November 1, 2009.  We will be leaving the lodge at 9:00 am or
meet at the Home at 9:30 a.m.  Please join us as we honor those who have given
so much for our freedom.
Our Masonic Year comes to a close with our final four communications during this
quarter.  Please join us for Jazz Night on Monday November 2, 2009 as our newly
raised Brother Joe Yachnik and friends come to the lodge and entertain and
enlighten us with the beautiful sounds of a Jazz Quintet in the lodge room.
Fellowship at 5:30, Dinner at 6:30 and Program after a brief business meeting at 7:
30.  Please contact the lodge office at 908-276-9801 to make reservations.  This
program, including dinner, will be $10.00 per person.
The saddest night of the year is suspension night which will be our November 23
communication.  Suspension notices have been mailed out and it is my sad duty
to inform all the brethren that over 90 members of our lodge are delinquent in
their dues for two years.  Brothers, please, right now, take your dues card out of
your wallet and, if it doesn’t say 2009 you are delinquent.  Please pay your dues
immediately.  While there are 90 brothers up for suspension, almost 200 of you
have not paid your 2009 dues.  The lodge can not survive without these
assessments so please, pay your dues.  In addition, we will be discussing the
report prepared by RW Ron Jacobson on the state of the lodge.  Once again, this
will be important meeting where the future of the lodge will be discussed and I
encourage all within the length of their cable tow to attend.
Lodge elections will be December 7.  Please come out and congratulate the
Worshipful Master elect.  The WM elect will be qualified immediately after the
election and all PMs are welcome.
Brothers, it has been an honor to serve you as the Worshipful Master this year.
May God Bless you and yours.
